Work for us

As this season ends, we begin to start thinking about plans for next winter.. We're recruiting the following positions for next winter:

  • Chalet Chefs

One of the main draws for our clients is our high standard of food, whilst being served in a friendly and informal environment. It is one of the reasons we have a large number of returning guests year after year. As such, we ask all our Chalet Chefs to be friendly and available to our clients whilst at work, as all of our chalets feature open plan kitchens. No Gordon Ramseys allowed! You will be looking after 12-14 guests alongside a Chalet Host, so being able to work as a member of a team is a must. Your daily catering duties will include cooking a hot breakfast, baking a cake for afternoon tea, and preparing a delicious 4 course meal. Ski Bluebird provides a menu plan which we use to maintain a consistently high standard throughout all of our chalets, but you should display a passion for cooking as this is flexible and we always welcome your own ideas and creative spins on dishes. The Chalet Chef is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and it's equipment, as well as helping out with the cleaning of the communal areas with the Chalet Host and ensuring that all chalet paperwork is completed on time and sent to the Chalet Manager.
  • Chalet Hosts

Our Chalet Hosts are the friendly face of the company! We ask our hosts to be hard-working, personable and to have a real 'can do' attitude. Nothing should be too much trouble, and that you are able to help with any guest queries throughout their stay. Daily tasks include setting and clearing up after breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, as well as serving canapes and pre-dinner drinks. It is the responsibility of our Chalet Hosts to ensure that the guests rooms are cleaned to a spotless standard, as well as assisting with the cleaning of the communal areas alongside the Chalet Chef. You should be confident in the catering side of the kitchen, so that in the event of the Chalet Chef falling ill, you would be able to fill in and help if needed, as well as being able to prepare children's high teas when required.
  • Driver/Resort Support

The Driver/Resort Support is the unseen hero of Ski Bluebird, the member of the team that ensures that everything runs smoothly throughout our guests stay! The role's main duty is operating a driver service in the mornings and evenings, shuttling guests to and from the slopes as well as the occasional apres session in one of the bars! Other duties include; chopping kindling and laying up fires in the chalets, checking the working order of the Hot Tubs and their cleanliness, ensuring the companies vehicles are clean and presentable, helping the Chalet Manager with shopping, delivering items to the chalets and ensuring that the food and linen stores are kept presentable and organised throughout the season. The Driver/Resort Support will also be driving to and from the airport on changeover day, as such we ask that all applicants have at least 2 years driving under their belt, and previous professional driving experience is highly advantageous.
  • Chalet Chef/Host

We have recently taken on a new 6 bed chalet for Winter 2015/16, Chalet Grand Cerf. We are looking for someone who has worked in the industry before who is comfortable running a chalet for 6 people on their own. You will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and its equipment, as well as setting and clearing up after breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, as well as serving canapes and pre-dinner drinks. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the guests rooms are cleaned to a spotless standard, as well as the communal areas. All chalet paperwork is to be completed on time and sent to the Chalet Manager. The Driver/Resort Support will be available for support at a number of times per week as per the weekly rota to help out in your chalet, but may have to be called away if a situation arises elsewhere.

For all these roles, we ask that all applicants hold a valid British/EU Passport and have a UK National Insurance Number.

If you like the sound of any of the roles described above and you're not afraid of hard work and want the experience of a lifetime, please send a Covering Letter, your CV, and if applying for a Chalet Chef role, a 6 day Menu Plan including breakfast and afternoon tea to marcus@skibluebird.com.

Interviews will take place in September, and we aim to get back to all applicants within 5 days of receiving your applications.
